Dr Colleen Hopkins graduated from University College Cork in 2007. Following her intern year she practiced in New South Wales Australia for a couple of years. Upon returning home she completed basic specialist medical training before joining the Southwest General Practice Training scheme.
She relocated to Dublin upon attainment of her GP qualification and spent 5 years in a GP surgery in Dublin city centre.
She returned home to Cork in 2020 and has been practicing in Glanmire ever since. She sets up Glanmire Family Practice to serve the increasing primary healthcare needs of the expanding suburb of Glanmire and surrounds.
Along the way she achieved diplomas in obstetrics and gynaecology and child health.
She is an experienced GP and also offers a full suite of women’s health services and long acting reversible contraception.
Her goal is to offer a collaborative approach to healthcare. She aims to enable a person to consider the best evidence-based medical tools so that the individual can promote, safeguard and manage their own health and well-being.
